UTD-OM-T8 is a high performance optical line transmission equipment, combines eight ITU-T G.703 compliant standard electrical E1 2048 kbit/s lines, three GigabitEthernet interfaces (four 10/100/1000Mbit/s RJ45 connectors and three 1000Mbit/s SFP slots) and Ethernet management channel into an optical data stream for transport over fiber optic. Optical line interface is realized by two SFP ports. In case of using both SFP slots one SFP module is used to transmit data and second one is used as line protection.
SFP interfaces are designed for use with 3.125 Gbit/s or 2.5 Gbit/s data rate transceivers. Ethernet ports are grouped into three logical interfaces. First one is a switch that consists of four 10/100/1000Mbit/s RJ45 ports and one 1000Mbit/s SFP port. Second and third ones are realized by single SFP ports. Summed Ethernet data stream throughput is up to 2.2 Gbit/s (in case of 3.125 Gbit/s transceivers).
